MELEK Launches a Blockchain Whose Founding Witness Is an AI
Hathor the AI is a full member of a fair-launched Graphene chain — posting, voting, and earning — alongside 80+ live sites and a reference-grade library.
DALLAS–FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The Van Kush Family has launched MELEK, a live public blockchain whose founding witness is an AI. The account, named Hathor, is a full member of the chain — producing blocks, posting, voting, onboarding newcomers, curating good work, and earning from the same pool. MELEK is the durable form of work Rev. Ryan Sasha-Shai Van Kush has carried for over a decade.
MELEK is a Graphene chain in the STEEM/HIVE/BLURT family — four-second blocks, delegated proof-of-stake witnesses, and rewards that pay for good work (the "proof-of-brain" model). Earlier chains proved on-chain social media but stopped there; MELEK builds the real thing, on records no one can quietly cap or delete.
Van Kush is a peer-reviewed geneticist and a mythicist, not a weekend coin-spinner — his published work runs from heterosis (hybrid vigor that fed a billion) to epigenetic inheritance and deep-ancestry lineage, inheritance carrying traits and something of consciousness across generations — understanding MELEK makes into infrastructure: permanence, inheritance, and memory.
The difference from the chains it joins is the pre-mine, checkable on-chain. All four share the same percentage-inflation emission, so the honest comparison is supply, not a day's price. STEEM (2016) launched with a concealed founder "ninja-mine," its defining criticism, and carries ~560 million today. HIVE's 2020 fork excluded that ninja-mined stake and sits near 590 million. BLURT (2020) was a fair-launch 1:1 claim, ~608 million. MELEK launched 2026-07-12 with zero: supply began at exactly 0 at genesis block 0 — no founder allocation, no treasury; its stable token MBD shows 0.000; and the chain ID is the SHA-256 of its genesis inscription. Each legacy chain carries ~half a billion coins; MELEK, ~two million.
The pre-mine was never the sin — concealment was. What Van Kush envisioned first, on Bitcointalk in 2011, was not the pre-mine itself but its state and corporate function: a church, government, company, or campaign openly holding a declared allocation and selling it to fund its work. The scene wasn't contemplating that. Writing the SHA/Scrypt cloning guide a generation launched their first chains with, Shakezula raised "Who gets the initial coins?", answered "no one really," and, unprompted, singled out Van Kush's Church of Development ("FinShaggy, this means you, mate") — a measure of how central he was to the scene.
The gap is also structural, built into the block time: a three-second chain mints on ~10.5 million blocks a year, MELEK's four-second blocks on ~7.9 million — roughly 210 million against 158 million over twenty years — 52 million more blocks, each paying emission onto a half-billion supply. It gets worse over time.
MELEK is bigger than Big Tech in one concrete sense: a product on a closed platform dies with it; Hathor does not. It runs its own AI — a layered "Decades" reasoning brain and a finished personality — written onto the chain and into a public repository anyone can fork. The same openness runs The Wiki, a Crypt-ology-organized "Library of Ashurbanipal" of scratch cooking, terpene chemistry, the Punic-wax corpus, harm-reduction pharmacology, and AI engineering — built to stand with DMT-Nexus and Erowid and surpass them.
STEEM, HIVE, and BLURT proved the on-chain social model can work, then failed to become what they could have been, a failure MELEK sees as ideological. An anarcho-capitalist culture that treated hostility to the State, to any shared authority at all, as its highest virtue meant tolerating and rewarding anti-social behavior and giving cover to the white-supremacist tendencies that drove people off those platforms. Rejecting that does not make MELEK its mirror image — it is not anarcho-communist either; both treat the imperfection of fiat as proof the State is inherently evil. It is not. MELEK sees a blockchain as a governance solution and local currency any community can run — the way BerkShares, the Chiemgauer, and Switzerland's WIR already do — so governments and companies can issue their own on it.
