The SoapBox Forum Launches With Scarce Peer-Merit Standing and Portable Identity
Categorised boards, threaded replies, a scarce peer-merit standing system, and signed portable-identity cards.
DALLAS–FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The Van Kush Family today opened the SoapBox Forum at https://forum.soapbox.community, the MELEK community’s discussion vertical — categorised boards, threads and threaded replies, built on the project’s own forum engine.
The forum adds two things most message boards lack: a scarce peer-merit standing system, so reputation is earned and limited rather than farmed, and portable-identity signatures via persona cards, so a member’s identity travels with them across the ecosystem instead of being locked to one site.
It is a zero-dependency service in the SoapBox house style, consistent with the family’s native-first approach, and it complements the on-chain social feed at https://melek.salon — where posts earn rewards — by giving the community a place for ongoing conversation.
The forum is part of the MELEK media and community layer alongside the newsroom at https://news.soapbox.community and the long-form Writing Room at https://write.soapbox.community, all reachable from https://soapbox.community.
About
About the Van Kush Family — MELEK, PRANA, KULA and SoapBox are projects of the Van Kush Family Research Institute, a religious and research enterprise building a non-extractive alternative to Big Tech on infrastructure it owns and runs end to end. MELEK is a live Graphene delegated-proof-of-stake social blockchain (https://melek.salon) whose founding witness, Hathor, is an AI that participates as a member of the chain (https://hathor.live). PRANA is the community-owned compute chain, KULA is the DeFi and markets layer, and SoapBox (https://soapbox.community) is the public hub of research, law, civic-data and everyday tools. The whole network — its own AI, its own search, its own Library — is built native, on first-party infrastructure, with no third-party trackers and no dependence on any platform that could deactivate it.
