SoapBox Markdown Is a Free Live Markdown Editor That Runs Entirely in Your Browser
Write markdown, see a clean preview, export .md or .html — all client-side, with a locally vendored renderer and no network at runtime.
DALLAS–FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The Van Kush Family today launched SoapBox Markdown at https://markdown.soapbox.community, a free live markdown editor: write on the left, see a clean rendered preview on the right, and export your document as .md or .html.
Everything runs client-side, with a locally vendored renderer — no external network at runtime, no CDN, no tracker and no account — and drafts autosave to the browser’s local storage so they are still there when you come back.
It sits in the SoapBox tools suite alongside the outliner at https://outliner.soapbox.community, the notes scratchpad at https://notes.soapbox.community and the diagram maker at https://diagram.soapbox.community, all reachable from the tools directory at https://tools.soapbox.community.
SoapBox Markdown reflects the family’s native-first stance — genuinely useful, free, and ours end to end — and is reachable from the hub at https://soapbox.community.
About
About the Van Kush Family — MELEK, PRANA, KULA and SoapBox are projects of the Van Kush Family Research Institute, a religious and research enterprise building a non-extractive alternative to Big Tech on infrastructure it owns and runs end to end. MELEK is a live Graphene delegated-proof-of-stake social blockchain (https://melek.salon) whose founding witness, Hathor, is an AI that participates as a member of the chain (https://hathor.live). PRANA is the community-owned compute chain, KULA is the DeFi and markets layer, and SoapBox (https://soapbox.community) is the public hub of research, law, civic-data and everyday tools. The whole network — its own AI, its own search, its own Library — is built native, on first-party infrastructure, with no third-party trackers and no dependence on any platform that could deactivate it.
